Inverclyde Carers Centre was established in 2001 as a result of many years campaigning by Inverclyde Carers Council to establish a dedicated support service for Carers.
In 2006 a voluntary management committee made up of Carers and former Carers underwent training and took over the running of the centre in its entirety in 2007 when it became a company limited by guarantee, registered with Companies House. Since its inception the centre has supported thousands of Carers who look after someone who could not manage without them due to illness, frailty, disability or addiction.
The centre is a key partner within the Inverclyde Carer and Young Carer Strategy and works closely with Inverclyde Carers Council in highlighting the rights of Carers and ensuring that they are recognised by public agencies for their valuable contribution to society.
